Foster Carer Profile - Erin & Blanche

Interested in foster caring, but want to hear from someone who has done it themselves? We spoke to experienced foster carer Erin, who has been caring for sweet girl Blanche 💗 Here's what she had to say about her experiences fostering greyhounds:
I have been fostering since January 2024, my most recent foster hound is Blanche. Our first foster Jet. He was a wonderful sweetheart and was such a loving boy to introduce us to fostering. He was a gentle giant that loved snoozing, going for brief walks before getting back to his favourite toy - his hedgehog.

Second, we fostered Peppa. She was the life of the party! She loved when we had guests over. Group photos? - Peppa was right there in the middle. She was lucky enough to join us for a weekend away down the Great Ocean Road. She was a cheeky girl that stole our hearts.

Our current foster is Blanche! She is a firecracker. This baby has recently turned 3, so of course we threw her a party. She loves the car and don’t get her started on the beach! Big waves? No problem, she jumps straight in, spins around and goes to crazy town. Not too fond of the dog wash after though!

Fostering a greyhound is something that you will never regret. At times it can be a challenge, but it’s also rewarding and you definitely notice the void in your home when they get adopted. If you want constant laughter and a loving friend to do life with, fostering a greyhound is for you.

We’ve been really lucky with our snoots. The team at Greyt Greys are just incredible. They are always just a text away if I have any questions. You can really tell how much these amazing people love these greyhounds.

I had a greyhound at home and he just made me fall in love with the breed. I never knew how funny they were. I'm not in a position to adopt, so fostering is the best way I can help out. There’s no better feeling than having a snoot in your home.

Thank you Erin for your continued foster support 💙🫶
