Foster Carer Profile - Jing and Bruce

We spoke to new foster carer Jing, who has been caring for sweet boy Bruce since September. Here's what she had to say about her experience so far:
"We started fostering in early September. It’s been about five months now! It’s been a massive learning curve, but we’ve loved seeing Bruce settle in and get more comfortable.”

"Bruce is a black greyhound and absolute gentleman. He’s incredibly quiet and affectionate. He loves leaning on people."
"Bruce gets intimidated by barking chihuahuas easily. Overall, a funny giant baby!“

"We supported Bruce through the treatment of a bone infection. Since getting treatment, he’s a totally different dog! He went from being lazy and a bit aloof to a more energetic dog who now does zoomies everyday and loves car rides. He can finally jump in and out of the car easily.”

“I wanted to foster because we started learning about the racing industry and how tough it can be for greyhounds. I really just wanted to help at least one or two hounds. It’s all about giving them a soft place to land and showing people what great pets they are. Plus, I love dogs!!!”

"Bruce is officially famous for being lazy! I posted a TikTok AND It went viral with over 20,000 views! He’s also got a very specific morning routine. He starts "yawn-singing" the second he wants attention."

“My best advice to future foster carers is to be their advocate. If they seem lazy or distant, they might just be sore or scared. They need your love and support! Once Bruce started to feel better, his real personality finally switched on. When you are a foster carer, you’re literally changing their whole world.”
