Foster Carer Profile - Samone & Juni

We spoke to experienced foster carers Samone & Craig, who have been caring for sweet girl Juni since January. Here's what they had to say about their experience fostering with us since 2021!

We started fostering in 2021 after adopting our first two greyhounds Beany and Hugo. We are currently fostering our 12th foster Juni.
Juni, is a sweet girl who settles more and more into dog life everyday.

We have had so many great experiences but the funniest has been Greys in our pool. They either fall in because they don't know what it is, or love a swim with us when we are in there!

When our fosters arrive, I love to watch them experience a house for the first time - windows, wooden floors, doggy doors, food, cuddles, the couch.

Our first greyhound Beany had some challenges. She was terrified of humans. It took us six months to build her trust. Watching her journey into the pup she became touched the whole family. Every step forward made us fall in love greyhounds. When we adopted Hugo we realised we got so much joy as a family from greyhounds and wanted to help more through fostering.

Fostering is amazing. Our kids have learnt so much from it. It makes me smile every time. When the kids come home, the first thing they do is go and say hello to each of the dogs. While it's hard to see them go to their forever family, I have every confidence in Greyt Greys and their focus on finding them their perfect homes.

My best advice to future foster carers is to take the plunge! It's rewarding on so many levels for you, your family, and the greyhounds.
Samone and her family continue supporting us by fostering. They are an integral part of our volunteer community. Thank you from all of us at Greyt Greys and for continuing the legacy of Beany & Hugo.
